About Me
I started out shooting travel editorial work, which taught me to work fast and stay reactive. That skill set translated naturally into commercial lifestyle photography, where timing and spontaneity matter just as much. Over the past two decades I've built up a practice shooting for brands and agencies across hospitality, healthcare, corporate, and travel sectors.
I'm comfortable working solo or as part of larger productions. I've shot everything from quick social content with a single model to month-long campaigns with full video crews across multiple countries. The logistics change but the core skill stays the same: reading a situation quickly and capturing what's actually happening rather than what's supposed to be happening.
What keeps the work interesting is the variety. One week I'm shooting guests on a luxury cruise ship, the next I'm documenting healthcare professionals in Africa. Different contexts, same challenge: making the imagery feel natural rather than staged.
I'm a member of the Association of Photographers.
Kind Words From My Clients

Photo shoots are high pressure situations where expectations are always high. I've worked with Michael on international shoots not only because he's a first class photographer and always delivers killer shots, but he's also just fantastic company and an absolute joy to be with on a shoot. Can't recommend him highly enough. A legend.
David Jenkinson. Head of design and experience at Pearlfisher
I’ve been lucky enough to work with Michael on many shoots over the years and can honestly say his amazing skill as a photographer is matched only by being a genuinely great bloke to spend time with and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending him to anyone.
Robin Atkins. Creative Director, Ogilvy
I think of the shoots I did with Michael as among the best and most rewarding of my career. In particular the ones we did in the rice fields of Bali and the maze Fields of deepest Brazil were not only very demanding on the planning and logistics side, but were also (and most importantly) amazing in the beautiful imagery that we came back with.

I’d admired Michael’s work from afar for years and in 2018 was lucky enough to get to commission and art direct him on a shoot in South Africa. From a loose idea about what we wanted to achieve, Michael was able to bring the whole thing together, also recommending great production partners.
We shot an image library for a healthcare company in and around Cape Town with multiple setups and models. The client needed around 40 images, the output was so good they ended up choosing over 100. Michael absolutely knows his stuff; a joy to work with and also to spend time with. Totally recommend.
Paul Thompson. Freelance Art Director
Without doubt Michael is one of the most energetic and dynamic photographers that I have worked with in over thirty years of art directing. His ever present professionalism ensures a relentless pursuit of excellence - to get THE shot with every situation that he is presented with.

I absolutely loved working with Michael and the team! They are organized, helpful, easy-going, and professional. I came to Michael with a big project involving a UK celebrity but it was highly unorganized at the start. He was extremely patient and willing to work with us as more information unsurfaced. The finished product was AMAZING and we could not be more happy with the pre/post production efforts Michael went through to make it a great experience. Thanks Michael!

Michael is a true master of his craft, a consummate professional and a good person to fly half way round d the world with to shoot a big job. We did a shoot together in South Africa for One Life, a Luxembourg Insurance company. It's still, in my twenty years of design, my favourite shoot. The photography is amazing.I could not recommend Micheal highly enough.
