Street Casting for Personal Photography Projects

Street casting has become an essential part of how I approach my personal photography projects. Working this way allows for more authentic, diverse, and relatable subjects, adding emotional depth and visual credibility to the work.

Rather than relying on agency models, I often approach people I encounter on the street — if someone stands out, I’ll introduce myself and propose a shoot. The response is usually positive, and we’ll arrange a time and location for the session, often with a simple shot list to guide the process.

This approach not only results in genuine expressions and stories, but it also fosters unexpected creative collaborations. The images below come from various street-cast shoots, each offering something unique in tone, personality, and atmosphere.
